    Why people are becoming more lonely?

    First, loneliness is increasing and it is lethal as pointed out in this video:

    The question is why it is increasing? Shouldn’t people feel more connected after getting mobiles and social media networks?
    My take is that before social media, friends and family circles were small, tight and robust. The circles ballooned in size with social media and mobile phones, and the relationships got shallow. With social media, young people are not alone but feel lonely, which is lethal in many ways. Another problem is people don’t even realize what they are missing and by the time they realize, they miss the boat. It is easy to see and measure financial well-being because all you have to do is track the number in your bank account. But when it comes to relationships, it hard to quantify how strong and reliable your network is.

    Interesting points on measuring. If that is the case, what is the best way we can measure that well-being of our relationships?
